The market for therapeutic antibodies is growing, and so too is the capability to engineer antibodies to meet these needs. However, this engineering is not just limited to the antigen binding site, since the interaction of the Fc with the immune system determines the response to the target, as well as the pharmacokinetics recycling the antibody.  

Where antibody drug conjugates are being made, the bioconjugation site has the potential to affect the immune interaction. Although there are a number of strategies for bioconjugation, technologies that attach to lysines, cystines or glycans on antibodies, all can be found on the Fc  of an antibody, and thus affect response and recycling.   

The Fc Receptors produced by Gamma Proteins can be used to test antibody binding affinities in vitro in a variety of methods, and can come either unconjugated or biotinylated to facilitate orientation specific conjugation to surfaces.
